The design creates 55 residential units three stories above a commercial street level. Parking is below grade.
Restricted to Spanish revival style , the project is filling in the small scale fabric of this traditional town. The massing was broken into virtual buildings, which would be finished in different materials, and different methods, to achieve the appearance of a neighborhood grown over time.
Even within the narrowly limited historic styles, the design is creating a variety that can be added on to over time. The project falls under the theoretical construct described under 'Downtowns from Nowhere' in the 'Viewpoint' Section of this Website.
